AI Meets At-Home Rehabilitation: Feng Chia University Students Win First Prize at Cross-Strait Youth Maker Competition

The 11th Cross-Strait Youth Maker Competition concluded at Tongji University in Shanghai, with Feng Chia University (FCU) teams delivering standout results in the Tongji track's Open Source Innovation category. In total, 35 FCU students across 10 teams won awards, applying artificial intelligence and image recognition technology to real-world problems and capturing two of the competition's top First Prize honors. The winning projects were CareYou, an at-home rehabilitation platform developed jointly by students from the Department of Communications Engineering and the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, and a Badminton Motion Capture and 360° 3D Image Reconstruction system built by students from the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science — both demonstrating how technology can be applied to real needs in healthcare and sports.
Feng Chia University Students Join Konkuk University’s Overseas Summer Program for an Immersive English-Language Learning Experience

The Office of International Affairs at Feng Chia University organized an overseas study program at Konkuk University in South Korea from July 1 to July 19. A total of 19 students participated in the three-week summer program, which was conducted entirely in English. The curriculum covered topics including K-Psychology, K-Aesthetics, and virtual reality applications. Students from Feng Chia University also engaged in discussions and collaborative projects with peers from the United States, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and other countries, gaining valuable cross-cultural communication skills and practical international experience.

Taiwan’s leading semiconductor process equipment manufacturer, Zhi Sheng Industrial Co., Ltd., and Feng Chia University held the 2025–26 Academic Year成果發表會 for the Feng Chia University–Zhi Sheng Industrial Team Innovation Incentive Development Fund on August 11 at the University’s Science and Aerospace Building. Since 2022, Zhi Sheng Industrial has donated a total of NT$5 million over five years to establish the fund, which has supported 13 interdisciplinary innovation teams to date. At the presentation event, Zhi Sheng Industrial General Manager You-Wen Liang and Feng Chia University President Vey Wang attended in person to witness the成果 of industry-academia collaboration and innovation projects.
Feng Chia University and Mae Fah Luang University Enter Their Third Year of Reciprocal Overseas Learning, Witnessing Student Growth Through Cross-Cultural Exchange

The reciprocal overseas learning program jointly organized by the College of Business at Feng Chia University and Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) of Thailand has entered its third year. From July 1 to July 23, faculty members and students from both institutions participated in a two-way exchange between Chiang Rai, Thailand, and Taichung, Taiwan. The program not only covered topics such as business communication, sustainable accounting, and entrepreneurship, but also immersed students in authentic cross-cultural learning environments.
From Milan to Modena and Turin: Feng Chia University Students Explore Strategic Design Thinking Through Overseas Learning in Italy

15 students from the College of Business at Feng Chia University, led by Dean Chiung-Ju Huang and Professor Giorgio, embarked on a two-week overseas learning journey in Italy. Traveling across the cities of Milan, Modena, and Turin, the program connected students with three leading European universities and offered firsthand exposure to internationally renowned companies such as Ferrari and Maserati. Through immersive cross-cultural experiences, students gained practical insights into the power of design thinking and brand innovation.
FCU Programming and Creative Challenge Highlights Interdisciplinary Innovation and AI-Powered Creativity

The 2025–26 Programming and Creative Challenge, organized by the Information Technology Learning Center of Feng Chia University’s iSchool, was held on May 30. Students from 12 departments—including Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical and Computer-Aided Engineering, Statistics, Chinese Literature, Chemical Engineering, Cooperative Economics and Social Entrepreneurship, and Communications Engineering—formed interdisciplinary teams to participate. An award ceremony was held on June 12, with FCU President and iSchool Dean Wei Wang presenting awards to the winners.
